Over-politicization of Indigenous nations

Rezdefied since the day I was born means to my understanding that I was not only born into politics and also, born to be an anarchist. Raised on a reservation on the beautiful so-called Vancouver island, in so-called British Columbia, outside of so-called Victoria, better named by the original people as METULIYE. On all further descriptions of present names in comparison to Indigenous names for same locations; I will put colonized names in small case, ie; victoria hereinafter I will use small case ‘v’, etc.

Since Time Immemorial, as long as the grass grows and the rivers flow, this is how long I believe our nations have walked this earth. Sychronized in peaceful hope in a world of sustenance provided by a loving Creator. One who maintained a relationship with the people, the land and the sea and has continued to be in relationship with many nations today.

There was no fear in being around the Creator and all his creations including the language gifted to our nation by the Creator of all things. Having a relationship with the people as they engaged with all other living things in communion to serve each other, express their respect and desire to maintain a healthy and sustainable life; all gifted by the Creator.

Over-politicization occurred as colonialists and settlers interfered with that relationship in order to steal the land and steal trails, waterways and other travelling routes of the Indigenous people to serve those who came later (Hwinitem in my language). The resulting plans involved massacres of Indian people all across Turtle Island, glorified ‘victories’ in their eyes and something that ‘had’ to be done. Introducing further genocidal practices through the removal of children from their homes into residential or industrial schools all over Turtle Island resulting in language and cultural losses specific to ‘raising up of young ones’ in particular ways of the Indigenous nations. Sometimes if it wasn’t the cops coming in to take kids, it could be social workers, those employed by governments and churches and given authority to steal the seeds of our nations. Colonizers also protected the ‘telling’ of the stories, the incidents were always ‘whited-out’ and the Indigenous stories or side was hardly ever put into print. Archives created were only accessible by the educated, of which many Indigenous peoples could not receive education outside of these ‘horror schools’ unless they wanted to lose their status. Few made the challenge, some were ‘indoctrinated’ by the abundance of ‘soul’ savers and the few liberal minded who could see Indigenous people as humans; and not, the ‘Other”opposite of those who used ‘indifference’ to relate to the people, actually not ‘seeing’, never mind accepting them at all.

Assimilation is the answer from a colonial perspective as kkkanada also known as canada (stolen name) embarks on another endeavour to lower the status of Indians to ‘less than” settlers. This 4th level of government has been warned about by leaders such as Late Philip Paul, Late George Manuel (his family, Kanahus Manuel and others continue in his legacy of work for our nations). Many of the decisions in kkkanada are made with assimilated leaders and the ‘everyday’ nations of people do not have a voice. Chiefs and Councils are greatly ‘man-handled’ by the canadian government. kkkanada’s control of the media aids their cause as even the Hwinitems (those who came later) do not have a clue what their government is up to until after the fact. Their support of the Ukraine included. Actions on the wildfires. Their attempt to get on the Human Rights commission should easily be a no-brainer when you recognize genocide for what it is. Loss of language, culture and a specific targeting of our nations based on ‘race’. World Leaders have pulled a fast one with the signing of the United Nations Declaration on the rights of Indigenous peoples (UNDRIP), empowering these leaders to apply the declaration as they see fit. kkkanada empowered the provinces and is wiping their hands of it and concentrating instead on removing ‘land attachments’ by nations through ‘municipalizing’ our reserve land base leaving not much for the future generations of Indigenous peoples. Where I am, it’s an obvious land grab.

Treaty lands

Soon as b.c. signed on to make it legislation undrip has been wielded against Indigenous nations. A rash of mining applications have been entered into with the province where legislation is so ‘weak’ that anyone can apply for one. Since writing this has been challenged according to “Mineral claims require First Nations consent…” by thenarwhal.ca. Where I am it’s the agricultural land-use that has many ‘settlers’ being able to apply for land and do not even have to completely use the land for farming. Realtors and Developers have a monopoly on much of the development and land sales that occur on unceded Indigenous territories. Thus the land grab for housing of the so-called low income/families and the homeless. victoria is definitely about gentrification. Recently they received a lot of money to begin a housing projected number of houses by 2025. All of this is going on while unceded territories are being abused and Indigenous nations have not had clarity or established what Undrip should be for their nation. Everything in dealing with the kkkanadian government requires us waiting for state direction to give emphasis and explanations of the undrip as a legislation and how to use it. Whether colonial or Indigenous it is at the bottom of someone’s list. Political Distractions are multiplied against us to act, the pandemic, wild fires, elections and Trudeau goes on a ‘hide-out’ and next we hear the media will not be allowed to be shared on Facebook, Meta, and Instagram platforms. What the hell, I can’t wait for the good old days. #oureldersaretiredofgenocide #YouareonIndianLand The New World Order is an evil collection of ‘white’ men set on de-populizing and ridding the world of those of us who are in the way. This is not propaganda nor is it conspiracy theory; this is our life on the daily.
